How relationship routes work

Romance grows out of character-specific audiences and quest decisions, not a universal gift meter documented by the developer. Match dialogue to the Knight’s values, keep their personal route alive, and avoid treating one affectionate scene as confirmation that the ending state is secured.

The official publisher and developer material supports the broader principle that decisions affect relationships and that Knights have distinct personalities. The supplied partner guides add the route-specific layer: affinity scenes, personal decisions, and a final relationship choice. Where they report values or scene thresholds, this page treats them as community-tested observations rather than universal rules.

The five supported route entries

Gwendan’s source material connects a romance outcome to his debt and whether he returns in a more humble form. Brunhilda’s route is tied to the Gavault branch and its personal scenes move from family distance to political conviction and vulnerability. Gideon’s deeper scenes depend on his origin route, while Ursula’s relationship material changes after at least one death in the supplied account.

Oliver’s route begins with a prologue mercy choice and later places a major decision around funding his studies. These are not interchangeable templates: each entry has different locks, preferences, and uncertainty. Use the linked Knight record before spending a major regional branch on a romance plan.

Missable foundations

  • Gwendan’s debt and reform choices occur early.
  • Brunhilda depends on the Gavault branch, whose first-run and rewind reports conflict.
  • Ursula’s repeated deaths can alter her long-term state.
  • Gideon responds well to Audacious rule and poorly to Tyrannic choices.
  • Oliver depends on sparing the opening attacker before his Act II candidacy.

Affinity is evidence, not a promise

Several supplied guides list positive or negative affinity results for individual dialogue lines. Those observations can help when a route is already open, but an affinity increase alone does not prove that a later scene, epilogue slide, or romance conclusion has been secured. Keep the Knight available for their personal scenes and do not make a conflicting regional decision just to chase a small reported point gain.

Favourite meals and quest preferences also appear in some community databases. They are useful for day-to-day experimentation, yet their mechanical values are not published as an official romance formula in the provided sources. This wiki therefore records the broad preference only when it is repeated and avoids turning food or a single scene into a universal romance calculator.

Relationship endings and political endings

The endings archive separates romance or character slides from the five reported political ending families. A relationship may change a companion’s final slide without replacing the political resolution selected near the endgame. Likewise, the political Marriage family should not be read as confirmation of a romance with every Knight.

If you want to compare relationship outcomes, make a save before the final choice and preserve the earlier personal-route save as well. The strongest safe pattern is to confirm the character route first, then test the political layer separately. This avoids falsely crediting one late choice for a state created much earlier.

Deliberate omissions

Victoria and Chester are not labelled as complete romance routes because the collected material does not establish them with the same level of support. A flirtatious line, a friendly audience, or a discussion thread is insufficient. Their records remain searchable, but their romance status stays 待确认 rather than being expanded into unsupported content.

Exact partner thresholds, all possible post-ending combinations, and any universal “best” romance choice are also unconfirmed. If a source reports a branch that conflicts with your current build, follow the screen in your own run and keep a save. The purpose of this page is to preserve informed choices, not to turn a partial route archive into false certainty.

Show romance and ending interaction

Character ending slides can react to romance state as well as the main political ending. The same broad ending may therefore produce different relationship outcomes. Marriage, one of the five reported main ending families, should not be confused with every Knight romance: romantic and political routes can be separate layers.
