Knight record
Epicrate
Choose between a courtroom defence and a prison break in Brimwood.
A Brimwood revolutionary whose trial and prison break offer different recruitment routes.
Recruitment: trial or prison break
- Reach the Brimwood storyline in Act III and read the audience concerning the imprisoned revolutionary.
- Choose whether to pursue his innocence through the court or release him by force.
- Check the quest's assigned Knights, remaining cycles and deadline before advancing.
- Read the completion report and the subsequent audience; a quest being accepted is not the same as Epicrate having joined.
Guidexon's recruitment guide records both openings. They should be treated as alternative political decisions, not two compulsory tasks in one recruitment chain.
| Route | Reported assignment | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | Prove Epicrates' Innocence | The quest database lists two Knights, two cycles and CHA 3 / WIT 11 / LCK 4. |
| Prison break | Free Epicrates | The database lists one Knight, three cycles and WIT 15. |
These assignment figures are from Raider King's quest database, which reports a four-cycle deadline for each. Your active quest sheet takes precedence if a patch or branch changes the requirements. The same database records a special innocence outcome with Goberto and a People penalty when Tarcus handles the breakout; those are reasons to inspect the assignment, not guarantees that any matching stat total produces the best result. Guidexon's account gives a stronger warning that Tarcus attempts to harm Epicrate during the breakout. Because the accounts differ on the exact result, choose another Knight when preserving Epicrate is the objective.
Starting stats and useful assignments

| Level | Armour | STR | AGI | CHA | MAG | WIT | LCK |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | 6 | 3 | 3 | 9 | 9 | 12 | 3 |
The Raider King roster gives this starting profile. Wits is his strongest base attribute, followed by Charisma and Magic; equipment, levelling and story changes can alter the sheet.
His reported traits include Revolutionary, Undiplomatic, Time Perception and Intuitive. Relic Recovery and Magic Ritual are favourable quest categories, while Diplomacy is a dislike despite his respectable Charisma. His revolutionary trait also makes the balance between Nobles and People relevant: do not evaluate him only by the six visible stats. The roster lists Shortbread and Pré fou as favourite meals.
Why Epicrate may not join
- Wrong stage: his Brimwood prison route is an Act III opportunity, not an early scheduled visitor.
- An unfinished assignment: allow time for the return report and follow-up audience.
- A missed deadline: check the quest clock before sending a Knight on another long job.
- An unfavourable special outcome: named characters can change a quest's result even when the displayed requirements appear suitable.
There is no adequately supported rule here that all factions must be allied or that Demon Power must remain unused to recruit him. Avoid adding either restriction to a run simply because another guide describes one successful political setup.
Epicrate and the end of a reign
Epicrate is part of the character roster that can receive an epilogue alongside the political ending. Recruiting him alone does not determine the final outcome. Keep him at the Round Table if you want to preserve his presence for the ending sequence, and use the endings guide to distinguish political resolutions from character slides.
His ideas also appear in Brunhilda's personal scenes. For alternative recruits, return to the Knight directory; for the Gavault loyalist involved in the breakout warning, see Tarcus.
Sources and version
Recruitment branches and character data come from the linked community guides; they are not an official guarantee for every save. This entry incorporates the published patch record through 1.1.0 without claiming that the older quest tables were retested in that build.
